Panthers don’t do responsibility. They don’t do long-term relationships. They definitely don’t raise kids. But when Z discovers a young werewolf in the forest, he takes him in, unaware of the powerful beings hunting the pup.

Fiona is a witch who can’t leave her house; the birds have told her something bad will happen. The mailbox is as far as she’ll go, but even that may provide more danger than she’s bargained for. When a wolf pup stumbles into her garden, her safe, wrapped-up world heads for a free fall, especially when a sexy panther shifter kidnaps her to help him look after the pup.

The Catalyst The Preternaturals Book 3 eBook Zoe Winters

I really enjoyed this book. I couldn't put it down, except I had to work *frowns*. It is the third book in the series. Book one was actually three short stories, which were great short reads. Book two wasn't as good in my opinion, but still a good read. This one really sealed the deal for me on this series. We have a agoraphobic novice witch and a very dominate and independent panther. Oh, and there is a werewolf pup who was born as a pup and can't shift human until he is 4 or 5. How cute is that?

So, the panther finds the pup and takes him, except the pup wanders. He is found by the witch who ventured out to get the mail. The panther proceeds to kidnap her to get her to babysit will he finds the pup's pack.

This book brings back many characters from the previous two books. So, we have witches, demons, vampires, shifters (both panther and wolf), did we miss anyone? I don't think so, oh wait, a witch that is quite corporeal. That covers it. Just an all around great story. I will be starting book four tomorrow.

The Catalyst The Preternaturals Book 3 eBook Zoe Winters Reviews

Zoe Withers is a lovely writer so reading her books is not exactly a difficult feat. There is also good continuity with the previous books in the series to orientate us back into the world she has created. One of the qualities of her writing that appeals is that her characters always have distinctly human qualities, annoying at times, but always lending them a vunerability that keeps us interested. In this case our were-panther has no idea of romance but we still fall in love with him just like our heroine. She cries and he is at his wits end. It is delightfully sweet and captivating. Can't wait to read the next one.
What an exciting addition to this series. I was so happy to see some of the previous characters come back and play a roll in this story. Without warning we are thrown into a whirlwind of events that have happened since the first books release, the 2nd book was devoid of the previous characters altogether, but I am glad they are back and raising hell! This particular story focuses on Zane and Fiona, Zane is a were-panther living the good life of bachelorism, and Fiona is a weak witch with a fear of the outdoors. They are thrown together with the help of a little pup in need of care. The end result was a bittersweet coupling of aloofness and naivety. I would recommend this series to those who enjoy all things paranormal. It's an engaging read that will keep you entertained and turning pages to see what happens next. Look forward to the next installment.
I think this was my favorite of the Preternaturals books thus far because it ties so many of the characters from the previous books together. Primarily, we focus on Fiona and Z - a rather weak, agorophobic witch and a werepanther. They're brought together by a twist of fate and the chemistry Winters cooks up between them is delightful! Additionally, we get a glimpse into Cain and his thought process which I loved! I hope another book comes out soon with Cain as the main character - falling for Tam perhaps? In addition to Tam, we also see Cole, Jane, Anthony, Charlee, Luc, and Anna in this book. I really liked the ensemble cast and felt that the broadened scope and change in POVs added tremendously to the story. I could see this series holding my interest and continuing on for a very long time. It sort of reminds me of J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series in the way that each book introduces and builds upon new characters. I love that series and am really loving this one too. It seems like it just keeps getting better! Winters has created a very rich world that I look forward to learning more and more about. Can't wait to read what's next!
Oh, man. There were so many little things I liked about this book - Fiona's agoraphobia, her ineptitude in spell casting, her social awkwardness, Z and his rocking bachelor pad. Did I like the lengths Z went to to make sure Fiona would help him? Well... no, but it did shock her out of her very regimented life and forced her to reevaluate her fears. Frankly, the fact that she allowed the whisperings of the birds to dictate how far she was willing to walk from her front door tells me that she desperately needed a good shaking up.

Now, I did have some problems remembering who Jane and Cole were and how they fit into the overall world at first. It's been a while since I read the first book and their characters didn't pop into my head right away. However, once I placed them, I thoroughly enjoyed revisiting their tumultuous relationship. As long as I'm on the subject of reoccurring characters... Cain! Love the dude. His book is going to be so fun. I can't wait to see him fall and fall hard! And Father Hadrian. Wow. His story should be very interesting.

While I enjoyed the story overall, I wouldn't have minded a little more time spent with our hero and heroine. I do love the setup we're getting for the overriding arc but Fiona and Z were interesting and I felt like we spent a lot of time with Cain, the demons and the wolves when we could have been watching Fiona and Z get all tangled up emotionally in one another. Still, I did like the book and I'm excited by the hints we got about upcoming shenanigans.

Dreadful. Just dreadful. I actually enjoyed the first book. The characters were compelling and eventually worthy of their happiness. This book goes in 13 different directions at once. And by the end, most of the characters are just weak and undeserving of happiness. The King of the Vampires is willing to muscle/go to war with the werewolf pack because his political position is weak. And his wife allows him while standing there wringing her hands. The werewolf crawls into a bottle and almost loses control of his pack and is willing to do anything to get his wife back even if she's a sex demon. But that's OK because this author sneers at the idea of Christian heaven as a boring, sexless place. Naturally, the heroes are all demons because sex is fun, angels make demons because they feel sorry for them, and God is just a snooze. I love a great paranormal story. I love great, steamy writing. Sadly, this book provides neither.
