When two co-workers lose their spouses in the same accident, it would seem natural for them to bond over their losses. But Giselle Granger would rather struggle with raising her two young daughters alone than turn to Jackson Broussard for help.
After years of putting up with his wife's lies and manipulations, Jackson feels almost liberated by her death. Finally free to move on with his life, he finds himself bound to the past by the desire to do right by his best friend's widow and children, even when Giselle makes it clear that she does not welcome his interference.
Over time the two form a truce that slowly heats up to a sizzling attraction. But when guilt and rumors of her husband's past infidelity surface, Giselle fears she's made a dreadful mistake in allowing herself to fall for Jackson. Will the two grab for their second chance at happiness or will they be left with nothing more than a last first kiss?

I am always so amazed at how two people can read a book and come away with two very different visions of what the story was all about.First, I LOVED Jackson. I saw him, at the first of the story, as a guy who got caught up with a bitch of a wife. She uses her frustration with being unable to conceive a child to control him at every turn. I have known women just like this and you feel so bad for the guy, being trapped. She may have been mentally ill or she may have just been one mean bitch that had one goal and that was to make everyone around her miserable. A selfish, self-centered, controlling bitch. now that is the way I saw her. I had absolutely no sympathy for her and pushing her down an empty elevator shaft would have been acting too kind, in my opinion.
I was glad he was finally free when she died! Good riddance and hooray. Back to Jackson. I loved his character as well as his Uncle Bill. Two very sexy leading men. The heroine is a widow, very recent as her husband is killed in the very first of the book. To lose the love of your life and know he was the love of your life would be devastating. I did feel her pain. I will admit that by the end of the book I was getting a little tired of her tears, for god's sake girl, grow a pair and grow up. You are not the only person in the world hurting and you have two small children that not only lost a father but a mother as well. No thoughts to them.
I thought the story was well written and I really loved it. I hated to put it down and couldn't wait to pick it back up. Great story. You can tell this author is from Louisiana. The references to LSU, etc. were abundant. I too am from Louisiana and she has a much more positive view of it than I do. She even references people like me who are not that impressed! :-) This book was published a while back, however they did have cell phones so it can't be too old, can it? No matter, it was not dated by people smoking, etc. No matter. I really enjoyed the story and I am now moving on book #3 in the series. I highly recommend. Good read.

Last First Kiss La Fleur de Love Book Two edition by Lori Leger Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I am not an avid book reader...which makes me a picky reader. A book needs to capture my interest, and keep it. I need to be able to put myself in the characters place or WANT to be in their place. Last First Kiss had me hooked from the very beginning. Having been in a car accident myself, I totally related to the heartfelt emotion that follows such a tragic event. This emotion was so well capured in this book it amazed me. The struggles and heartbreak of living without the love of your life is something that no one can even imagine. Lori has chose a varity of intresting characters for her book. Her story, her writing, her characters, are all very well thought out.
Trust me when I tell you that if she continues to write stories as this one, I will surly be buying them.

I really do have to say this is probably my favorite of the series so far. I feel like I am betraying the others as I say that though because they are all so good. However the storyline of this one grabbed at my heart as soon as it began. The feelings of both Jackson and Giselle were easy to sympathize with and you really could understand the emotions that had to be worked through to arrive where they did. This series is one I will definitely look forward to rereading and I don't do that often. Wonderful, wonderful book!
I read the first book in the series and thought it was okay but didn't particularly love it, but I thought I would give the author another chance with this book & I am so glad. I loved this book, the characters were wonderful and I fell in love with them. The main couple were lovely and I was totally sucked into their story, all I wanted was for Jackson to finally be happy. At first I was a little leery of all the additional characters, but it reminds me a bit of a Julie Garwood book and I ended up being sucked into their stories as well. Just a marvelous book.
I must give her books a 5 star because they touch so close to home. When one has had a good and happy marriage they are more likely to remarry sooner than later. I was very happy when my sister-in-law found happiness after my brother's death and it was to his credit that she married his friend. I love this story so much and know that it is hard to move on but so happy that people can.
I love the way she keeps the love and closeness of the family in her books. I still catch myself laughing while reading and my dogs thinks I'm nuts.
From the very first page, I was sucked into the story. Jackson and Giselle lose their significant others in a horrific traffic accident, but what comes after can be the most difficult to deal with. I fell in love with the hero, and at one point tweeted the author because I wanted one of my very own!
Ms. Leger knows how to weave a great tale of love, loss and betrayal. The characters emotions, thoughts and actions were believable. I'm in awe of how she threads in secondary story lines throughout, giving readers a taste of what is to come with her subsequent books. Another great book, by a budding author!
I loved the first book. I plan on rereading that book many times in the future. This book I did not love so much. I thought that Chloe was over the top. Her character seemed like more of a vehicle to mold certain events as well as to make it o.k for Jackson to court Chloe. I did not like Giselle's character very much. I know that perhaps this is unfair because her husband dies and she is not going to be at her best. I did like Jackson, though. I think that it would have been interesting had Chloe been more sympathetic. It would have been interesting to see Jackson and Chloe grieve together. Jackson's uncle was really great. I wondered why Sam was not in it as much. I think if I had not gone into the book with such high expectations I would not have been disappointed. The first book was just so great that this book had some pretty big shoes to fill.
